Workshop Partners: 

This workshop will look at CO2 storage research, capabilities, and opportunities for commercialization in the UK, US, Norway and Canada. While highlighting and promoting CCS research and R&D, it will also show potential for research and commercial partnerships. The focus will be on storage assessment and monitoring, moving from research to business, reconciling various regulatory structures, onshore vs. offshore carbon storage, and concrete opportunities for commercial CCS deployment and CO2 for EOR in Europe.

 This workshop is part of an on-going collaborative effort between the British, Canadian and Norwegian Consulates-General in Texas and U.S. stakeholders, bringing together government and industry participants to discuss and compare relevant policies and identify the commercial and regulatory framework necessary for near-term and long-term deployment of CCS technology.

The first unique UK-Norway-Canada CCS workshop, “Challenges and Opportunities in the CCS Industry”, took place on the side of the annual Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in May 2011.  A review of the event is here and the report and presentations are here.
